MLB’s Meanest Players

Last week Sports Illustrated released this list of baseball’s meanest players voted on, by 215 of the players. Some guy decided to make a spoof of it, so I thought I’d share since it was mildly funny, and I couldn’t think of anything to write about when I sat down to write a post today. My favorite was probably the Jason Kendall impression. I was highly disappointed we didn’t get to see an impression on the #3 meanest player, Milton Bradley, it seems like he’d be one of the easiest guys to make fun of!

I'm a dude that just hit 30 years old. Pretty much like everything that is funny, insightful, and has to do with the Warriors, A's, and Raiders. View all posts by chappy81

Nothing wrong with that at all ! But I’d like to see them come up with a list of the 50 worst owners in professional sports ! That list has to be worth something don’t you think ?

I see Spurrier is trying to distance himself from another college controversy ? Several of his players were allowed to stay in a hotel ….. free in some cases while attending some sort of symposium . He’s now saying that he hopes it doesn’t get the university into any trouble . Well , well what’s up with that ? I am sure that both he and the AD Eric Hyman knew this contravened NCAA rules but they probably didn’t give a #@it if things were free .

I don’t know the guy personally, but I’ve heard Fielder is a dick at signings and community events. And he’s leaving town, which I’m sure doesn’t help.

    Chappy,
This is funny as hell, Scott Boras is hands down my favorite. Jason Kendall is pretty funny as well. Did you like him in Oakland?

    • chappy81

I liked Kendall, but wasn’t a huge fan of his. Maybe it was because of his limited offensive addition to the team. When he was on the A’s, he did a great job of handling our pitching staff, so for that reason alone I liked him.

    That is actually pretty funny.

Although nobody on this list comes anywhere close to how mean Nolan Ryan and Bob Gibson were.

    All, the good old days.

I never understood why AJ is so hated, maybe he calls for a lot of pitchers to hit batters haha. I don’t think we’ll ever see the mean spirits of yesteryear. Is that a good thing?

I hadn’t seen that list…I’m kind of surprised to see Chase Utley at #2. I really didn’t know the guy was mean. Same with Teixeira.

    I’m surprised Carp isn’t higher.

    • chappy81

Yeah that’s what I was thinking when I saw Chase on there. I had no idea other players didn’t like him, because he seems like a nice guy. I had no idea Carp was a jackass. Any good stories to share?

I haven’t had to deal with him personally very much other than “Sign this for this Children’s Hospital” but he’s just super intense pretty much all the time. The only time I’ve seen him un-intense was when Jason Motte was trying to get him to adopt a dog.

Now I’m going to go drink until Mizzou covering the spread makes me happy.

From what I can tell Utley just keeps quiet, doesn’t socialize or hang out with the opponents prior to the games…and plays really, really hard. If that is what “mean” now “means” in baseball, that’s really pathetic.
