The Shoes

I’m not sure why, but I love to watch good NBA montages like the Warriors “Live Forever” one I posted awhile back. Maybe it’s because baseball ones aren’t that exciting, and football is too brutal of a sport to make a artistic montage. Anyways, it always makes it better when it’s paired with a quality song to boot. I guess this was made way back in July when the lockout was still going on, but honestly, I’m not sure what this really has to do with the lockout. It also reminded me that I never had the “cool” shoes growing up…

  I remember I had the Reebok pumps when I was in grade school and I remember it being a huge deal.

  I even had this little white vial of what I called “shoe ointment” which was simply diluted whiteout. For a small fee I would let the other kids in the class use it to repair any part of their shoe where the white material had been scuffed. This type of shrewd business practice would prove helpful when I sold coke in college. Of course I’m kidding. Sort of.

      At least I was giving them something in return. Let’s just put it this way…I was being far more gentle than the teachers who were beating them up and just holding them upside down until it came out of their pants.

  I just put on a brand new pair of Reebok kicks. All white. Made me feel at least six months younger. 🙂

  Hey Chap,

  Long time no hear. Hope you been good. Saw this commercial during the lockout and it just makes you want to go outside and play some basketball. I don’t know if it necessarily pertained to bringing back the NBA, but the video was great, so it was good enough for me.

    I’ve never really bought cool sneakers. I guess my running shoes cost about $100, but I honestly can’t think of how much the most expensive basketball shoes I’ve bought were. My golf shoes are probably more expensive than them haha.

  I think the effect that shoes have on performance is way overrated. It’s about how hard you work, not what shoes you have.
