Our favorite Raiders quarterback of all-time is being sued/had a grievance filed against him by the Raiders for $9 million of the $39 million they wasted on him today. It’s a rough break for Russell, now he might have to return some of that ice he layered himself with. I think he might lose a little resale value on anything he put himself on, like this awesome diamond encrusted Jamarcus jersey. Before you know it he will be back to wearing his hippy cloak, and be on the huge list of athletes who have gone broke. It’s okay though, I hear McDonald’s doesn’t mind if you have a lazy work ethic, and occasionally fumble things in to the deep fryers. Too bad Al can’t devise some kind of lawsuit that would take back a million for every game he lost for them (7-18). I’d say he lost at least 15 of them. If you want to know about his highlights as a Raider yous can check out this post. For some reason I find this comical, because Al stood by the marshmellow man for so long, firing Kiffin, and making Cable play him, but now, Al decides to sue his ass! I’m sure there’s some warrant to the lawsuit or Al wouldn’t waste his time. This is one of the main reasons the NFL needs to change up the rookie pay scale for the first round draft picks. Maybe the new CBA will bring that for us. Anyways, one thing Al has been bad at lately is winning, except when it comes to court cases. He will drag them out, and whether the lawsuit is against a city or the NFL, or a player, he usually wins. My advice to Jamarcus, just give it back or you’re going to spend more fighting to get it back, and have to pay Al at the end of the day anyways! Actually, maybe he doesn’t even have $9 million to give back…

The Raiders haven’t a leg to stand on the money was guaranteed and Russell has done nothing to break the tenets of the contract. See your Jack vs Tiger’s post where I’d left an earlier comment.
The NFLPA will make the Raiders front office look dumber than they already are.

Probably, but Al Davis wants to waste as many peoples time and money as possible while he’s still on this earth! I have a feeling that there must be something to it, but I’m no lawyer, so maybe not…

Tort law is all one needs to adhere to hear and the tenets are Russ- Russ hasn’t reneged on any part of the deal. Davis and the Raiders are pis_ed and trying to make an end run around the CBA. What other reason would the NFLPA have taking up the case on the player’s behalf ? This is the mere nuts and bolts of thing ………..greed and embarrassment on the Raiders’ behalf. For God’s sake they still owe Mike Shanahan money that they’re unwilling to pay and they fired the friggin’ guy .
I’m no lawyer I only work in the corporate division of a law firm dealing with risk analysis and business incorporation. But it doesn’t take a dummy to realize that the Raiders are once again making idiots of themselves and it’s going to cost their fans in the long run. A $600 to $700 an hour lawyer ain’t doin’ this for fun. And should they end up losing this what the hell will it look like to the fans ? I mean you tell me what did you think when you first heard and read about this ? A judge may well look at this ask why was the case presented in front of him in the first place . This is all so asinine and stupid on the part of the Raiders but then again you get what you pay for ! I mean their coaches are and scouting staff have been a joke to begin with. They’ve had more busts on their roster in recent years than a Hollywood cosmetic surgeon.

Honestly, when I first saw this, I was happy, I just wanted to see them get some of their money back on a terrible investment. At least Javon Walker said he wasn’t worth the money. Jamarcus thinks he was still worth it, and that’s why I don’t mind it at all…

You can’t blame Jam-Jam for this debacle because if the Raiders’ front office had used due diligence in the first place then they’d have known what the player was about from the inset while he was at LSU . Good God , simply watching a guy play isn’t enough as they needed to ask questions and seek out the right answers not run around with firggin’ stars in their eyes and covet the guy is he was some buxom blond centerfold .
It was common knowledge that he had character issues and was at times lazy but Les Miles would put up with his a_s for some reason . I guess he knew how to push the guy’s buttons in order to get him to play hard ! I don’t know the template that Cable had but it’s obvious that the s_it wasn’t working to begin with !

At the time it was pretty much either him or Quinn, and hindsight is always 20/20. I doubt Quinn would’ve done much better in the Silver and Black… I wasn’t thrilled when they drafted him, but for all that money you’d hope that he’d at least be able to learn the playbook, and show up on time. I don’t know how you can just leave $30 million on the table (what he could’ve made with incentives). I guess you were the only one that thought he was as stupid as he is…

That’s the bull_hit that the likes of Kiper and McShay put out there and the dumb ass GM’s around the league buy into their shpeel . There were other guys better equipped than the two players mentioned but as usual the Raiders simply don’t do anything by half measures and this is what it gets them in the end.
Eagles’ backup and now presumed starter Kevin Kolb came out the same year and he’ s produced far more than either Quinn or the Jam Rat ! But yet everyone cowered over him as he was the second coming of Randall Cunningham or Warren Moon ?
It’s not just about watching the guys play but having the time to do the research and that’s what the Raiders failed to do or don’t you simply understand that ?

Cilff Lee wants out of Seattle ……… so which of the big teams will actually go after him ? As good as Oswalt is said to be his back is but a twinge away from giving out on him. He’s no longer the workhorse he once was !
