Now that we’re fast approaching the most boring time of year in sports, I found myself especially missing college football this weekend. With the exception of the Super Bowl next weekend, (yes, it’s a pretty big exception) there’s not much exciting going on for the next few weekends for the sports fan. I watch more than my share of NBA and college basketball, but they’re just not the weekend event that football is. The season may be a long ways away, but these two links got me pretty excited for the 2011 season….
Fbschedules – I could waste a day checking out every team’s schedule for the upcoming season. Especially with all the teams changing conferences. Boise State in particular – even though the dates have yet to be worked out, they host TCU in a Mountain West matchup… can’t wait for that game every year.
MaxPreps Top 20 Recruiting Classes – To know what games are gonna be big, you’ve got to know what teams are gonna be good. Since you can’t see them on the field yet, you’ve got to go with the experts’ rankings. And since it’s 2011, you can check out the players’ credentials for yourself.

Since the Gators absolutely sucked this year, I’m finding I’m not missing college football as much as I thought I would. But I see your point. It’s a long way to next fall.
At least we’ll have some NBA to tide us over.

The Superbowl this upcoming weekend but this past weekend we had the god-damn awful Pro Bowl ! WTF is still the reason behind the game to begin with ? After that shambles that was three hours of my life that I can’t have back !

Funny you should mention that…. I thought about doing a Pro Bowl recap, but I couldn’t even keep interest in the game for more than 1 minute at a time! The most memorable play I saw was Atlanta’s Brent Grimes intercepting Peyton Manning and then celebrating as if it were the Super Bowl clinching pick!!! Ridiculous….

Like I said it’s three hours of my life that I’ll never get back ! Had I been suffering from memory loss that’d have been far more favorable than having to endure that piece of crap to begin with ! So the NFC won ! What was meant to do for the fans by way of entertainment ?
Other than the play you mentioned there wasn’t really that much to be enamored with during the game ! To me the only All Star events that tend to be worthwhile watching are the NBA’s All Star Game up to a point as the pregame events are far more worthwhile than the actually game itself and that of MLB’s All Star Game because at least there , there’s an incentive to be had for the winners of the game.

Here’s the recap: All of the players were hungover from partying all week and none of them cared. The End.

I was going to watch the Pro Bowl but I ended up falling asleep in my bathtub instead. It was way more awesome.

Tracy Morgan may well have had the right idea ……… Palin was meant to be a good subject for mastu_bation ?! Perhaps that what many a male fan should have ended up doing rather than actually watching the Pro Bowl !
