Well, I’ve been wasting a lot of time on NBA Jam since Christmas. It’s almost a mirror image of he original with a little better graphics, and some added games like 21, remix, and domination. I was excited when they brought it back, and since I haven’t been that into video games much lately it was nice to get into this one that I had a hard time putting down as a kid. I came across this youtube clip, and since it involved Curry, I thought I’d throw it up on the blog…

Funny how guys like Durant, Tyreke, Steph, and Brandon Jennings were all 3 or 4 when the original came out! And you know who the biggest RFP from the original NBA Jam is? Mike Iuzzolino from Dallas. The Mavs were, if my memory serves me correctly, the first team you played in the 1 player tourney. Everybody had to go up against Mike Iuzzolino. I’d say only Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat are the only other two arcade games on the same level from that era.

Dude that is a great call. I kind of forgot about Iuzzolino! Kinda crazy how far the Mavs have come from that original version.
I was thinking the same thing about the players playing the game and saying they were glad they brought it back and stuff. I think we were in elementary school when it came out, so they had to be 3 or 4 years old hahaha!

Iuzzolino!
Nicely done, Mceez! You read my mind. After reading the post, I was about to ask who the short white guy was that Dallas had in the first round.
He bore a striking resemblance to Scotty Brooks but was no Steve Nash, I can tell you that.
My team was Nique and Stacey Augmon back in the day although I’d still lose to a last-second buzzer-beater that would make me tilt the machine.

Dude, even in the new one the computer hits all kinds of buzzer beaters. So frustrating! Is it hard to guess what squad I used? It was the TM of Run TMC 🙂

I’m willing to bet Iuzzolino has seen more run on NBA Jam than he ever has on a basketball court. He was pretty Scott Brooks-ish, but personally I always thought he looked like Boner from Growing Pains. He was no superstar, but he MADE digital Derek Harper the player he was!

That’s not funny, Boner from Growing Pains is dead.
Actually, yeah it is. It’s funny, my bad

Speaking of NBA Jams how bad will things be when the likes of ABC/ESPN , NBA Tv and TNT scramble to show something else other than the game between the Cavs and Wizards ? These are now by far the two worse teams in the NBA without a doubt ! John Wall must be wishing he was back playing college ball rather than playing for the Wizards !

[…] may have seen this one coming. After Chappy brought up NBA Jam the other day, I can’t stop looking back fondly at all those dynamite duos from the original arcade game. […]
