I finally checked out Hot Tub Time Machine this weekend…. and while the idea of creating Lougle is a pretty good one, I’d probably opt for dominating the fantasy sports world – after inventing it of course. To that end, I traveled back to ’86 and found my old fantasy baseball roster. My team was stacked….

2B – Steve Sax, Los Angeles. 91 R, 6 HR, 56 RBI, 40 SB, .330 avg
SS – Cory Snyder, Cleveland. 58 R, 24 HR, 69 RBI, 2 SB, .272 avg
3B – Mike Schmidt, Philadelphia. 97 R, 37 HR, 119 RBI, 1 SB, .290 avg

Damn, mceezy. That team is stacked. Look at all those SBs. How many teams were in that league?!

Umm…. ten team league. Remember, fantasy baseball wasn’t that popular in the 80s! But, everyone was stealing bags in that day, so the numbers look pretty inflated. My team this season might even have more SBs with guys like Upton, Wright, Furcal, Kemp, and Phillips.

That is a pretty stacked team! I hope you won that league… I have a Steve Sax signed card somewhere….

Surprised not to see any Mets on here.
As I recall, they were pretty darn good in ’86.

You know what’s funny is I really thought about picking up Keith Hernandez or Gary Carter (back in ’86 of course). I had Strawberry to start the season, but I traded him for an 8ball of blow.
